Breaking the Fourth Wall

"The fourth wall" is an expression stemming from the world of theater. In most modern theater design, a room will consist of three physical walls, as well as a an imaginary fourth that serves to separate the world of the characters from that of the audience.

In fiction, "breaking the fourth wall" often means having a character become aware of their fictional nature. This can range from your character advising you to "Press X" in a tutorial all the way to Psycho Mantis reading your memory card and mentioning the other games you've been playing. However, the most direct violation of the fourth wall would be a character openly acknowledging they are in a video game or even directly speaking to you, the player, instead of to your character.

Short for tolerance break. When using drugs, a tolerance break is a period of deliberate cessation of usage in order to lower tolerance to the drug, thereby increasing its efficacy upon re-use.

I've been smoking every day for the last several months and now it takes like three bowls to get me stoned, I really need to take a t break.

Dorito breath

The aroma caused by consuming a fresh package of Doritos. The smell of a persons breath is multiplied by the b.o.-like scent that Doritos contain. This lingers long after the consumer has finished eating the chips. Dorito breath is most apparent after eating the nacho cheese flavored Doritos.

Do not kiss your significant other while sporting Dorito breath.

I don't like eating Doritos because they give me Dorito breath.

Damn, I can smell your Dorito breath from all the way over here!
