Tomer

A generic young Israeli male, typically hailing from Tel Aviv or the surrounding cities, but not limited to those areas. The term is derived from the Hebrew name "Tomer" but does not necessarily refer to individuals with that name.

Characteristics of a Tomer include sporting jean shorts, commonly known as "jorts", and Teva Naot sandals, although other footwear options like flip flops, Blundstones, or Vans are not uncommon. Tank tops are also a staple of their attire.

Most often found engaging in certain activities such as approaching unsuspecting tourists and attempting to flirt with them, enjoying communal meals of hummus with their group of friends on Fridays, drinking vodka XL's at Shalvata, or participating in beach games like matkot or foot volley.

Their dating profiles often contain phrases like "good vibes only," "no drama," and "4/20" , or beach, beer, and sun emojis. This type of individual can be considered the Israeli counterpart to the American "Chad."

The term "Tomer" was originally coined in 2020 by @margotexplainsitall, a Tel Aviv-based content creator. It has since gained popularity both within Tel Aviv and on the internet.

Person 1: "That guy I just matched with on Tinder asked me to come over to his roof to smoke a joint."
