edgy 

A general term decribing a person that differs from the norm and provokes unconventional thought, often with reference to appearance or personality qualities. Sometimes employed as an insult by sheep or squares whose groupthink causes them to fear people who don't conform to their narrow view of reality.

That new girl at the office, Jane, has this awesome edgy quality that makes work feel a little less mundane. I look forward to seeing what she brings to the table in our next project.
