The Daniels' Dilemma

When you talking to somebody in an xbox live party so you cant play any singleplayer games because they keep talking over all of the fucking dialogue and ruining the immersion. However, you have no good mulitplayer games to play so your stuck between choosing to talk to said person or leaving and playing the game you want.
Damn, i have no games i want to play while talking to this person. I guess im in The Daniels' Dilemma.

The Ice Climbers Dilemma

The Ice Climbers Dilemma refers to the creation of the characters the Ice Climbers in super smash brothers, the dilemma refers to (when designing the characters) whether or not to allow them to both grab separately and weather or not to give them the ability to easily desync during a grab. In the first two games that the characters appeared in, they were able to do such actions, however, is the newest entry of the game (super smash brothers ultimate) only the main climber can grab, and to desync them you must use very complex combos that are not as effective as they were in the older games. The reason that it is a dilemma is that despite the older versions being more interesting they were also game-breaking.

the Dexter Dilemma

When a man acts so zesty around women it's impossible to tell if he's a simp or just gay
(a modern 'simp or gay?' take of the TV show Dexter where the mc is both a detective and a murderer)
"Hey he keeps getting his nails done to hang around those pretty girls. That's a solid case of the Dexter Dilemma right there."

Savant's Dilemma

The Savant's dilemma occurs when the only reliable method of receiving recognition for your work is to cease working on it, thereby letting the project or effort die.

This typically occurs as a younger person of abnormally high skill is transitioning through the ranks but has not yet been universally recognized for their contributions.

It is particularly likely when such a skilled person is placed on a project that includes more senior people of broader influence and visibility. The outperformer may have no real path to gain visibility since people not on the project will naturally assume the success of the project should be attributed mostly to the person(s) who already have greater visibility. As the outperformer contributes more and more to the project, a greater share of recognition is diverted away from them.

Once this situation occurs, it may be in the savant's interest to leave the project, and let it die. In doing so, the savant receives recognition in hindsight. By not leaving, the savant expands the misconception and hinders his or her career.

To avoid this, invisible savants should avoid being on projects from their beginning, unless they are given the senior role. They can join a troubled project mid-way through, even in a non-senior role, provided the state of the project is widely understood. Their addition to the project will prompt questions of "what changed", thereby giving them visibility in spite of the lack of official title.
What happened to project X, it sounded like it was going so well?

Bob left.

But he wasn't the lead on that, what's the problem?
Well, he's the one who actually was doing everything. He moved to project Y, which was a mess till he got there.
So it was the savant's dilemma?
Yeah, but at least he won't be in that situation again.

mislaid glasses dilemma

Refers to da humorously-annoying conundrum dat's frequently encountered by folks suffering from C.S.S. (i.e., Can't See S**t"), particularly those who also have poor short-term memory --- they set their glasses down someplace, but then they forget where they laid them, and they cannot see well enough without said corrective lenses to find them again.
Keeping a spare pair of glasses (like simple reading-specs from da dollar store) in a certain place at all times (and then promptly returning them to said location after using them in a "mislaid glasses dilemma" emergency, like a hidden set of house/car keys that you use whenever you've accidentally "locked yourself out") can get you out of the age-old "I need my glasses in order to see well enough to FIND my glasses!" problem... you will always know where in the house that your "rescue" glasses will be, so you can go and temporarily don them for clear vision till you find your "regular" glasses again, and then put the spare set back in their "for emergencies" location.

appreciation dilemma

This is an occurrence where one feels extreme sadness due to underappreciation while feeling unworthy of praise.
Is it normal to have an appreciation dilemma? Because I feel like it's unusual.

Thor's Hammer Dilemma

(n) When a sole character uses a trait or object that needs a specific criterion to be met in order for it to be used or wielded, when in actuality many other characters possess the same criteria and thus should be able to also use or wield it. Case in point, Marvel's Thor and his hammer, Mjolnir.

Becomes more glaring when characters who should be able to use the trait or object are shown to not be able to.
Jake: "I have a sword that can only be used by those with a pure heart, great wisdom, and the pursuit of justice. You can try to use it Lloyd, but I doubt you'll muster it..."

Oh. Well, Lloyd also has those attributes, he's honestly better than Jake in terms of wisdom, so he should be able to use that sword.

Lloyd: "Urgh! I can't pick it up!"

Are you fucking kidding me... Another Thor's Hammer Dilemma? Can't these writer's just make these weapons work via DNA or make the surrounding characters less similar?
