1. A passive aggressive way to seem some-what interested in the conversation (but not really)

2. Someone is talking to you and being super annoying so you just reply with "lol." while screaming at your pillow.

Friend: Haha I just threw away a painting that's very valuable to you, haha. Look at me go!
You: lol.

'Lol' has lost it's meaning in modern conversations as it is used as a gap filler rather than actually laughing out loud so löl was created to decipher if the person is physically laughing or not. If you physically laugh you say 'löl'.

Dude 1: Do you have ligma?
Dude 2: What's ligma?
Dude 1: Ligma balls
Dude 2: löl
