"Hot Chats" refers to banter, debate and/or commentary that is no longer polite or respectful of the normal boundaries of conversation, that occurs amongst friends and usually as a sign of camaraderie. Often 'hot chats' tread into territory which may inadvertently - or completely deliberately - embarrass, expose or diminish those involved or someone else within the known community. The deeper the wounding that could occur to egos and/or reputations involved - the 'hotter' the chat.

Get the private chatmug. Term used in the twitch chat of competitive overwatch streams. It describes people who say dumb things in chat thinking their an expert in the game, but actually don't know what they're talking about. The term makes reference to the platinum rank in overwatch, a rank where there is a stereotype that players think they're better than they actually are.
