A former jedi knight named Anakin Skywalker, Anakin fell to the dark side in Revenge Of The Sith, and was defeated by his former master, Obi-Wan Kenobi. In Return of the Jedi, Darth Vadar through the sith lord, Emperor Palpatine, down one of the main reactors that held up the second death star.

Darth Vadar cut off his son, Luke Skywalker's hand.
