preps

preps are high class teenagers usually in junior high to high school. Parents are usually wealthy and buy most clothing for their sons/daughters. Clothing worn is usually J.lindeberg, Lacoste, Abercrombie & fitch, Gucci & DnG. Preps only wear lacoste or puma shoes. Preps are usually popular and have higher class status to everyone else except scene teenagers. Preps always have techno, mainstream, trance or rap on their ipod's. They always have a cellphone (new) and never have to pay for it. Preps arent all brainwashed, most of them are very intellegent and just want to look mainstreamed. Preps get a bad rap, but its usually from lower class people trying to make themselves feel better for their short-comings.

Preps

The "popular" group or "clique" in high school who was distinct from jocks (though they were closely associated with them). Some were involved in student government and clubs, which gave them even more social leverage. They usually wore unobtrusive outfits that blended easily into the crowd, such as polos with shorts or t-shirts with jeans. Their music tastes were usually mainstream and uncontroversial (stuff you'd hear on the radio). They usually all congregated in one place. Essentially, they weren't so much a subculture in itself but rather functioned more as an "absence of subculture," which is what gave them broad mainstream appeal.

Preps were mostly prevalent before the mid-2010s.

"Ok i've been reading your definitions of "PREPS" i wear Abercrombie,AE,Hollister ETC. I have been called A "rich prep" i mean i got money and i get the stuff that i want for example i got a new car for my 14 birthday and i couldnt even drive yet, and, i've paid $200 for a pair of "ripped" abercrombie jeans, but i dont think i'm better than every one. In my school the "preps" do wear expensive stuff and have nice things but the dont act like there better than every on else, they talk to the unpopular kids and have friends who arent in the "PREP" class and at one point in time i bet every one reading this has talked about someone behind they back. i dont like labels and i dont think you should label us because we dont label you. i look at every one as an individual and i think that you should too. lifes too short to go through it hating some one for what they've got and there social status.

That was said someone a few defintions back. I understand that some people have nice things (Even I do). But in alot of cases WHY?!?! A car at 14,a $200 pair of jeans. To me that is pure stupidity. And the reason every hates preps is because there are a few idiots who think there better then the average person. If your not a complete asshole. I dont care if you wear preppy cloths or music.

Nice Preps. = Good.
Jerk Off Preps. = Bad.

Lame-ass emo wannabes who pretend to be 'deep', 'melancholy', or 'misundrstood' while in actuality are some of the bubbliest, shallowest people on the planet. Usually have infatuations with Twilight, Chharlie the unicorn, and cheap emo bands they probably don't even listen to.

Sorry I'm late. I got caught behind the preps in black at Hot Topic, and had to stand there for an hour while they wrung up their wristbands and talked about Twilight.

true preps

True preps dont shop at places such as hollister, american eagle and abercrombie. True Preps shop at j.crew, urban outfitters, ralph lauren, lacoste, lilly pulitzer, tory burch, rainbow (sandals), and jack rodgers. most true preps grow up on the east coast and go to traditional boarding schools and go to country clubs.
