Are people who are there no matter what. When they make a promise to you, they don't break it.And if they do, they ask for forgivenes. If there is a problem, they will try to solve it....but if they can't they will give you a sense of confort. They are true....and you don't have to question their actions or motives. Best friend, also known as hetero life mate in a non-homosexual way. Best friends share anything and everything; they have no secrets from each other. A best friend will joke you, piss you off, and make you cry; but at the end of the day they're always your "person". They're number one in your life, despite significant others and family. Hell, they ARE your family. Despite whatever fuck-ups they make, you still have to love them cause there's no way you couldn't. With a best friend, you become pyschic. You finish each others sentences, think about calling the person right as they're calling you, say the same thing at the same time all the time, and walk in step...even when you try to not walk in step on purpose. A best friend is your other half.
Every weekend, best friends Katie and Calyx had something planned; they were attached at the hip & inseparable.

The person who you can always count to be there and catch you when your at your worst. Someone who knows all your secrets and silly little crushes. That person you can have a horrible fight with then go shopping for matching bracelts half an hour later. A Best Friend + is someone who you consider to be one of the most trustworthy individuals you know. You feel that the bond you share is greater than anything else you know. The Best Friend + can be male on male, or female on female, but is generally and almost exclusively male on female.
Similar to "friends with benefits" the Best Friend + can and usually will incorporate some level of sexual emotion and intimacy. However, unlike "friends with benefits" sexual intercourse will not be had.
