You can also talk to bears and do quests for rewards that include honey, and you can also customize your bees by leveling them up, using Royal Jelly to turn them into a different rarity (rare, epic, legendary, or mythic.)
You level up your hive, along the way getting more bees, completing more quests, getting better gear and amulets, until you've reached the peak of the game, ~level 19 hive.
