techno

A word describing a genre of electronic music that sprung up in detroit and europe around the same time (early 80's). Was (and Is) characterized by a 4/4 drum kick beat (varies), mechanicalistic effects and drum patterns from drum machines and synths, occaisional bassline, melody of various kinds, and a repititive feel (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH TRANCE). Unfortunately, the word techno was hijacked by mainstream media in the late 80's to cover for everything electronic. This pisses off a load of people each day when they hear others say techno for everything from house to jungle. Please, those of you who do use the word techno for everything electronic--don't. Figure it out.

Techno is made up of such subgenres like acid, detroit (dead), minimal, deep, german, and swedish.

Techem'up

When an IT professional using an array of mediums to communicate, most commonly, conference calls or emails containing technical jargon a normal or intellectually inferior employee or client won’t understand.

Don’t be fooled by imitators, techups are delivered at the highest level of IT from only the highest level of engineers.

"Dude, he's a jabroni just techem'up"

"Dude, the guys in that NOC are Busch league, just techem’up!"

"Dude, he doesn’t know shit- Tech his ass up"

"Dude, you should have heard them on the bridge, I started teching them up and their network guys went silent."

Tim asks:
"Mike, what should I tell this guy, we reloaded his router by accident"

Mike replies:
"Tim, just techem up"

Tim replies:
Techem up? How!?

Mike replies:
You know?! Just say a bunch of IT acronyms like BGP,OSPF,TCP IP,EIGRP spanning tree, STFU, I know more than you.You just been teched’up now get the fukk out of here. Oh yeah, ISIS and pim sparse mode too.

The user will announce his compliance via spoken word or by nodding his head dismally and walk away with headache. Best thing about an old fashioned techup is the aforementioned user will never ask you a question again.

Teching

In fighting games, teching is defined as the process of recovering from hit stun sooner than you would normally by waiting it out.

In smash bros, it can be done by pressing the guard button a few frames before hitting the ground.

It will look as though the character catches themselves before they hit the ground and get back on their feet. It is an important skill when going up against a character with great power that delivers strong hit stun.

Neo was able to use teching to get out of that hit stun before JC could throw a more serious blow.

techno pagan

Someone who blends modern technology with their pagan or witchcraft practice. Alternately, someone with a pagan spirituality who believes that mechanical and electronic devices, such as cars and computers, have a spirit or soul of their own.

Jarrod uses a Leatherman for his Athame and a laser pointer for his wand. I had no idea he was such a techno pagan.

techno-erotic

When an electronic component, computer component, or other piece of technology is associated with erotica, reproductive organs, or other sexual reference.
It can also be used to describe the use of technology based processes in sexual innuendo.

Example 1:
John mentions in conversation a reference to his computer dongle. Linda replies with "I don't really want to hear about your dongle John," insinuating he is referencing his genitalia.
Example 2:
A woman says to a male, "I've got an open USB slot if you would like to plug your device in," cleary insinuating sexual intercourse.
Example 3:
"The way that connector plugs into that slot is very techno-erotic."
