Commonly a casino located in midwestern cities. Initially upon legalization, casinos were limited to riverboats. However, developers began building casinos right next to a riverfront, skirting any laws prohibiting them from doing business outside of a riverboat. The term boat just stuck with all the patrons and now its used fairly common.
