The commonsense idea that individuals have the right to make their own decisions regarding their own lives as they please, as long as they simply repect the same rights of others; also known as voluntarism. This means that governments exist to protect people from force and violence, and settle disputes; nothing more. For the politically challenged, libertarian means that other people are not your property.
In politics, there is no such thing as left or right, or liberal or conservative; there is only libertarian vs. statist (totalitarian). In America, libertarianism is long overdue.

So-much-so that you will be called names such as; stupid, ignorant, bigoted, racist, misogynistic, homophobic, etc. even when there is absolutely no evidence to any of those claims.
This liberal called me stupid because I don't believe the scientists that are saying global warming is man made. When I mentioned that he's not believing scientists that say life begins at conception and the baby's sex is aslo determined at that point, he called me ignorant and homophobic.
