It's mostly used in context for "good game."
But it can also be used as slang for "good job," which is usually done in a sarcastic way.

GG, commonly mistaken for good game, is a short acronym for the words get good or git gud. It is commonly used in games that were no where near close and you feel bad for the enemy team/player.

Also "gg"
Used when acknowledging a situation of impending doom for one or more parties involved. Can also be interpreted as doom saying to you "good game" because it has already beaten you.
