The "Five Pillars of Islam" were invented by competing Arabic warlords in the process of creating their new religion from an older, Christian sect. In time, these groups would be known as "Sunni" and "Shia."

This recognizes science not just as knowledge, but as the engine of technique and technology—the practical applications, instruments, methods, and tools that science both produces and depends upon. Where the Four Facets model captures science as method, belief system, power structure, and institution, the Five Facets model adds the reality of science as a tool-making enterprise. This facet explains how scientific progress is often driven by technological innovation (the telescope, the particle accelerator, the DNA sequencer), how scientific knowledge enables technological transformation, and how the boundary between pure science and applied technology is perpetually blurred. The five facets together—Methodological-Logical, Religious-Ideological, Social-Political-Economic, Academic-Structural-Organized, and Technical-Technological—provide an increasingly complete framework for understanding science as a human activity embedded in material culture.
Theory of the Five Facets of Science Example: "The discovery of CRISPR wasn't just a methodological breakthrough (Facet 1) or an academic achievement (Facet 4)—the Five Facets model reminds us it was fundamentally a Technical-Technological (Facet 5) revolution that transformed what scientists could actually do."

Highlighted by events such as Black Friday, Drunk Christmas Parties, Fights over parking stalls at malls, erratic driving on freeways, an unexplainable increase in the number of people out and about, and general chaos wherever people tend to congregate.
Dude this sucks. I try to go to a store and I get hit by the Forty-Five Days of Stupid. People cutting me off on the drive over, fights over a parking stall, crabby-ass folks in line at the check out, and clerks that look like they would rather kill you and stick you in a closet than ring up your tab.
I'm gonna go in the basement with a six-pack and wait it out.
