IS A SPORT. im tired of people saying its not a sport, because technically it is. and by the way if your in "colorguard" all your doing is waving a stupid flag. so if you think cheerladings not a sport your wrong. cheerleaders do HARD WORK. such as gymnastics. can you do a back handspring? back tuck? nah...didnt think so. can you be thrown/throw someone up in the air and catch them with PERFECT techniqe? nah...didnt think so. can you remember multiple cheers chants and dance routines along with motions and ripples? and do them all loud, clear, and perfect along side of many others? nah...didnt think so. cheerleaders ARE athletes. were in great physical shape and are flexiable. everybody else is just jealous because guys LIKE cheerleaders. so they need to have a reality check, just because YOU cant do it doesnt mean its not a sport. and im SO tired of the dumb blonde cheerleader sterotype. YES i am blonde and YES i am an accomplished cheerleader but NO im not stupid. im taking ALL HONORS CLASSES okay? so get over the movies and books and look at whats real. cheerleading IS a sport!! and we look cute while doing it ;) we support the other teams AND go to competitons. just because we wear skirts doesnt makes us sluts. tennis players wear skirts for goodness sake. and cheerleading requires determination and will power! so stop hating and realize how stupid you look.

Get the the cheerleadermug. i understand how people would think that cheerleaders are sluts and bitches and whatnot, cus most of them are. being a cheerleader myself, at competitions,i have seen girls that fit this stereotype, and it is true that being around them is quite unpleasant, scratch that, I WANT TO FUCKING PUNCH THEM IN THE FUCKING NOSE. but for the other girls, we are very nice girls who just enjoy dancing, and all those other slutty and bitchy girls are just giving cheerleaders a bad name.
i used to think that cheerleaders were sluts, whores, and stuck up bitches, cus thats what people led me to belive, but after joining cheer myself, i have come to realize that not all cheer squads are like that. and the only reason why people see cheerleaders hanging out in a clique is because we practice everyday, about 2 times a day, and we spend the most time together, so who else are we gunna be close to? but even then, cheerleaders have a lot of friends outside of cheer. so to all those people who judge cheerleaders just because theyre cheerleaders, just take a second to get to know them before you assume the worst.

1. When a chick is riding your rod and she starts really bouncing and moaning and going nuts- she is "going cheerleader on it"
2. When a chick is devouring you with her oral skills, appyling good amounts of spit and giving it her all- she is "going cheerleader on it".

Get the Cheerleader on itmug. A Cheerleader is most commonly thought of as a brainless blonde bimbo who flirts with everyone etc.
And that may be true of some people, but it is sterotyping.
Some people think that cheerleaders must be white but this is also not true.
Cheerleading to many people is a sport, just as gymnastics and other aesthetically-pleasing sports are (e.g. ballet, dance).
Other people may also think that cheerleading is limited to America. It is not. Most schools in the UK for example do not have a Cheerleading Squad, but there will be opportunities to do this as a Sport in the Local Leisure Centre.
Other things to note: Cheerleaders aren't always blonde. That is the sterotype. They are not always preppy though I doubt that anywhere would have a punk Cheerleading Squad...
Cheerleading is often used in Media. It has featured in:
The Princess Diaries Movie (in a pretty negative form)
Bring It On (in a pretty positive form)
The Princess Diaries Book (in a pretty negative form to begin with, then more neutral)
The video for Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit.

Other reasons for negative impacts on Cheerleading: They can make enemies easily. You cannot live without someone hating you, for some reason. These cheerleaders who make enemies then became the sterotype.

Other reasons for positive impacts on Cheerleading: Popularity. It is a sad sad thing to realise, but many high schoolers in todays world care about nothing more than to be popular, although that is obviously not true for all.
I have found that Popularity is based on two things: Sports and Boyfriends.
To get popular quick, girls subconciously realise these two things. The best sport possible for them is probably Cheerleading. It probably gets you a lot more attention and popularity than joining the Female Soccer Team.
Then after they get onto the Cheerleading Team, they get boyfriends. And then ... BAM! They are popular.
But this doesn't always work. The girls who don't make the Cheerleading Team can become so obssessed in being popular, and when they finally realise it was pointless, they can take the blame out on the Cheerleading Team, instead of realising that they should be taking the blame out on themselves.
I am not saying that all Cheerleaders are wonderful people. Popularity can make people very self-centred and unfair. Therefore Popularity links in with being a Cheerleader many many times.
In conclusion, it is unfair to say that cheerleaders are all evil sluts, but also unfair to say that they are all wonderful clever people who like doing Sport.

Get the Cheerleadermug. These are the girls that get most stereotyped. They try to bring good to there name and are the ones who really understand teamwork. These are the people who try to inspire and give motivation and not bring down other people.
