RETRO-SCAN

Exhaustive facial analysis to try to figure out how someone that has just greeted you, but you no longer recognize, used to look a while ago.

I bumped into Kathy Loggins yesterday, and despise a very long retro-scan, couldnt match the 300 pound lady with our former head of cheerleaders..

pan scan

ct scan of the head, facial bones, cervical spine, chest, abdomen and pelvis, originally used for patients with severe trauma but now used to prove those body parts exist.

Triage nurse: He broke his ankle/got punched in the nose/ was found on the floor next to his bed/ is demented. Pan scan.
ER resident: He looks ok, but he broke a bone. Pan scan.
Radiology attending: He's got an effing nasal bone fracture. What are they looking for? Why the pan scan.
Radiology resident: I don't know. I didn't ask.

Phantom Scanning

The act of appearing to scan the NHS track and trace app, but not actually scanning it

So I popped into Pizza Express for a quick bite, and the waitress was like ‘you’ve got to scan the NHS app before sitting down’. So I take out my phone and appear to scan it, but in fact I’m phantom scanning it. No lock down for me, ha ha ha ha
