An absurd statement of the truth content and the implied social attitude of "the earth is flat", i.e. not a sphere. It is sometimes seemingly obvious, but completely false.

The world of people's opinions is full of "flatearthisms". In the area of climate change, for example, it is the statement that the atmosphere contains far too little CO2 to warm up.

It is a flatearthism that an amethyst crystal under the pillow ensures a good night's sleep, rather the opposite.
