an intimate term. sentenced the same way as lover, it's used to describe someone who loves another for everything they are. derived and inspired by haley heynderickx "the bug collector", the song talks about "trying to help someone you love with their problems or history and realizing you can't". it may as well describe the burning feeling of wanting to love yet not being able to do so.

The term is a portmanteau of "Chud," from the 1984 horror film C.H.U.D. (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers), and "Bug," suggesting a repulsive, pest-like quality.
