take it to the corner

The term means to run the clock down and comes from a tactic employed in soccer. When a team wishes to waste time towards the end of the game they take the ball to the corner and do as little as possible with it while keeping it in play.
When you don't feel like doing work towards the end of the day you may just jump on the internet to get you through to the end.
To coworker: "man I am tired and bored, I can't do any more work so I am going to take it to the corner."

EX1: - "I wanna screw up my whole career just so I can get paid more."
- "Yeah you should totally take your talents to south beach, asshole!" *in sarcastic tone*
