Get the Urban Dictionary mug.A website for users to research references made in popular culture, including slang and internet memes. A slight flaw being that almost any reference can be categorised as being in some context related to the use of drugs (legal or otherwise) or more commonly sex.
I looked up the phrase "hammer it out" on urban dictionary and there was little reference to the origin of the phrase relating to panel beating and many definitions relating to sex.

Or just throw away. It's also a place that could come in handy, like if someone says lol and you're like THE FRICK DOES THAT MEAN? Then, you look up lol and find out it means laughing out loud.
