mano nera \man'-o ner'-a\ n. Italian, lit. black hand. 1.a gang that originated in central Italy in the Abruzzi Region in late 1800 and early 1900. Mano Nera is not to be considered the same as Cosa Nostra (our thing) that originated in Sicily. The gang's activity was extortion. Their calling card was a single left-handed glove left on the door step of the person who did not pay. Popular writers who claim that the calling card was the black hand stamp do not have first hand source of the actual calling card.

a word that encapsulates any form of objection or negativity. a blend of many phrases such as: not, not right!, damn it!, no way!. There are a huge number of instances in which the term may be used, thus increasing it's undeniable versatility.

ninja nerf

The act of nerfing something without any forewarning.

While most nerfs are announced that they will happen before they actually happen, a ninja nerf is simply done, leaving the players to discover, usually being completely screwed over at the same time due to being surprised.

Player A: C'mon, let's go kill that boss. I'll get my shifter tank.

Player B: Ok, let's go. Those shifter tanks get like 2000 hp, so we should be fine.

*Player A and B get to the Boss*

Player A: omfg Wtf!? I've only got 800 hp!? *dies*

Player B: Oh Fuck... *dies*

Player A: Well wtf... I had 2000 hp yesterday... I didn't see anything about a nerf on the forums, did you?

Player B: Nope. Must have been a ninja nerf.

They typically have one

can't get enough of learning
about.
Being scholarly is one of the
biggest misconceptions about

They don't neccassarily have to
be super-studious
(a lot of them aren't actually),
but a general craving for random
but useful knowledge is what
they exhibit.
Online gaming, DDR, anime, and
manga among various other things
tend to be their interests.
They also normally have GREAT
taste in music =
Nerds may be socially awkward at
times, but just like
everyone else --
they're wonderfully outgoing
and fun when around like-
minded people.
A nerd will be friendly with
anyone who's nice to them;
the non-cocky ones are always
great about setting stereotypes
aside in relationships.
A nerd is almost always generally
a sincere, fun person who
you can almost never have a dull
conversation with.

In short, nerds are some of the coolest people you'll ever meet.
