The Boomer Effect

When a young person, usually a Gen Z, lives with one or multiple Baby Boomers. You start to feel old, ache more, tired often, and you start to like old shows. There are many more effects that have yet to be written down. Some examples of these shows are Law and Order, Dr Phil, old westerns, or the game shows like The Price is Right.

Bill: Hey, John's been complaining about a back ache lately. Hes only 12! He doesn't know real aches until he gets my age! Hes also watching old western movies.

Lily: Oh no, it's The Boomer Effect! It's taking over!

A recent gaming terminology where the player is on a current luck streak when all of a sudden their gaming prowess deteriorates by a factor of *10 for no discernible reason.

I was almost on a 20 kill, kill streak on CoD MW2 until I was hit by the nelson effect.

you can be nice and friendly all you want. theres always going to be some to whom you are the asian bitch that stole one of ours. whether vocab slurs like "asian bitch", "steal" or "ours" are wrong and hurtful or not.

The barbie effect

A supernatural effect meaning that right in the moment when you need something, it doesn't actually work or it vanishes all of a sudden (and obviously after you don't need it anymore it appears out of the blue or, even worse, it works).

We couldn't see the movie yesterday night because of the barbie effect.

-Hey, John, can I borrow your bottle opener?
-Sorry, man. I can't find it, the barbie effect strikes again
