R.B.E

An R.B.E, or a Resource Based Economy, relies on the concept that abundance for all people is a much more relevant motivator than monetary incentive, with the end result being a healthy & technologically advanced society.

To further clarify the concept of a resource based economy (R.B.E) consider this example: A group of people is stranded on an island with enormous purchasing power including gold, silver and diamonds. All this wealth would be irrelevant to their survival if the island had few resources such as food, clean air, and water. Only when population exceeds the productive capacity of the land do problems such as greed, crime, and violence emerge. On the other hand, if people were stranded on an island that was abundant with natural resources producing more than the necessities for survival, then a monetary system would be irrelevant. It is only when resources are scarce that money can be used to control their distribution. One could not, for example, sell the air we breathe, the sand on the beach, or the salt water in the ocean to someone else on the island who has equal access to all these things. In a resource-based economy all of the world's resources would be held as the common heritage of all of the earth's people, thus eventually outgrowing the need for the artificial boundaries that separate people – this is the unifying imperative.

Overly Bragging Excessive Coolness. Used to describe somebody that is waaay too full of themselves and think that they're "all that".

Pronounced with all the letters flowing together, so it would be "obec".

In a game of dodgeball, an O.B.E.C. stands on one side, an opponent stands on the other.

The opponent throws the ball and misses. The O.B.E.C. throws the ball and just barely hits his opponent.

O.B.E.C.: "Ohhhhhh yeah did you see that shot? That was pure skill! You, my friend, are OUT! OUT OUT OUT OUT!"

Opponent mutters to his friend: "He's such an obec."

Follower Of O.B.E.C. Someone who is a follower or a wanna be of an O.B.E.C. A foobec will usually agree with whatever an obec says just to look cool.

Obec says to a guy: "Hey can I copy your homework?"

Guy: "Ummmmm....no."

Obec: "OH come ON! It's just HOMEWORK! He should let me copy, right Sam?"

F.O.O.B.E.C. (Sam): "Uhh...yeah! Yeah-er-you should let him man!"

B.E.T.

All they ever show are songs about love, romance, sex, getting that babe, tapping her booty, sex, fucking that bitch, girl dumped me, sex, cheating spouses, evertyhing else related to sex and romance.

God fucking dammit will B.E.T. start playing a whole lot more songs that don't involve sex and love. How about they start showing good old fashioned songs about going through life's struggles, or sympathy towards relatives/friends, or songs about educational inspiration. Or even songs about the joy of raising children. Because I refuse to believe that the only songs that black people are capable of diong are cheesy love songs.

B.E.T.

A white-owned piece of shit trying to masquerade as a channel geared toward African-American audiences. Few African-Americans have anything nice to say about it, as they recognize it to be a mere minstrel show portraying nothing but stupid-ass white stereotypes of Black culture. As numerous whites, on this board and elsewhere have said, "Blacks would be upset if we had a channel!!!" Well, you have all the other channels, plus BET which is also a white channel.

Hey, they're showing 'MALCOLM X' on BET tonite, instead of 'The Viacom shake that booty hour.' It must be February.
