Detroit

Detroit has had some downfalls, but that is because the auto companies were doing poorly. What happened to Detroit could happen to any large city.
As for the crime, look at any other city-New York, Chicago and L.A. are worse. There are not many people living in Detroit anymore, because they all live in suburbs.

Also, Detroit has some great fancy restaurants, a great river view, and architecture. Motown (Supremes, Temptations, etc.) and the beginnings of rock-and-roll started here.
