On 1 June 2023 the court decided that media outlets had sufficiently proven the worst of their allegations. So, basically, one man’s defamation law suit resulted in global condemnation and impacted Australia’s relationships with allies in the countries where the alleged war crimes took place as well as detrimentally impacting international relationships with Five Eyes partners.
