nose picking

Verb: To pick your nose, to clear of boogers. Usually when blowing with a tissue fails.
Technical: Manual mucus extraction via the index extremity.

1. Picking your nose is no different than wiping "gookies" from your eyes when you wake up. Boogers are made up of tears that drained from the eyes via the sinuses mixed with saliva from the mouth and a small amount of mucus from the nasal cavity adnoids which hardens into a booger. (Repeater Term) A condition experienced on VHF and above where a signal rapidly fluctuates in amplitude causing a sound akin to rubbing a stick on a picket fence. If a repeater user's signal isn't strong enough to maintain solid access to the machine's input (such as when operating from a vehicle passing beneath underpasses or through hilly terrain), the signal would be hard to copy because of a pronounced, rapid fluttery or choppy characteristic.

finger picking

Finger picking is a technique that can be used when playing the gutiar. Instead of using a guitar pick, you use your fingers to pluck the strings.


..and if you understand some music terminology:
As there is only a treble cleff for guitar notation UNLESS it is a bass guitar, when using the finger picking technique you can 'imitate' bass AND treble because you can pluck more than one string at a time. You can then play a song with rhythm and melody, as opposed to what you would usually be restricted to playing with a regular guitar pick (chords, and solos).
