take out the ladder

In the sims2 game, if the player has installed a swimming pool after which the player removes the ladder but leaves the diving board, the sim will jump in the pool and not be able to get out, subsequently their energy will zero out and they will die. Synonomous with setting someone up to remove themselves instead of doing the wetwork and unnecessarily exposing themselves to prosecution.

Q. Hey, what you going to do about all the skimming your people are doing?
A. I know who is doing it and I'm gonnna take out the ladder on them.

snakes & ladders

A classic children's board game played between 2 or more players on a playing board with numbered grid squares. On certain squares on the grid are drawn a number of "ladders" connecting two squares together, and a number of "snakes" also connecting squares together. The size of the grid (most commonly 8×8, 10×10 or 12×12) varies from board to board, as does the exact arrangement of the snakes and the ladders: both of these may affect the duration of game play.

Snakes and ladders' simplicity and the see-sawing nature of the contest make it popular with younger children, but the lack of any skill component in the game generally makes it less appealing for older players.

Love ladders

when someone has so many rolls of fat on their sides, that love handles is an understatement. the multiple love handles resemble more of a love ladder.

She was so fat that i could have climbed up her love ladders.
