Used to describe people that try too hard to be "cool", people that try to get attention by doing something "cool", or people that show off or act cocky in a miserable attempt to impress others.

Also known as "ICU knitting."

Intensive care knitting is named as such because the yarns frequently get tangled together and require frequent untangling. The end up very much like the many tubes of an intensive care patient.
