The portrayal of the earth as a cute anime girl to help pollution problems and to induce recycling. Its working. Everybody has their own personal earth chan "gf" some might say, that reflects what others call their carbon footprint. If you recycle and care about the environment, your earth chan feels affectionate towards you and likes being your gf, if you dont recycle and dont care about the environment, your earth chan gets sick and gets raped by "pollution".
