Spite work

Unnecessary busy work imposed by employers to make sure they get their money’s worth out of employees or unnecessary working conditions imposed to micromanage employees.

I can perform my job better from (insert any location that makes sense), but am being told to go do it (insert other location that does not make sense) to keep tabs on me. This is some serious spite work.

You perform all of your duties, but are being asked to do some extra spite work that makes no sense and is usually mandated by someone else who is not an expert in your field.

Bad professional development/meetings that could have been emails just for the sake of having professional development/meetings are spite work.

When you are done with your work and more spite work is piled on because it would be a shame if you had nothing to do and were still being paid

Hard work

Hard work is like fucking Harvey Weinstein. Some people are willing to do it consensually but it's objectively gross and unpleasant. You can't say "no" to it and you kind of have to do it to make it anywhere in life.
