Text Novella

A long text message which your cell carrier has to break up into a minimum of 3 texts due to its length. Generally consisting of wrenching emotional details, with a back story. i.e. kook ups, break ups and various other relationship dramas.

You should read the Text Novella Shelley sent me. Her and John had a huge blow out fight last night and he packed and moved his stuff this morning.

From Shelly 1/3: You aren't gonna believe what happened, John started again on me with his jealousy routine. He accused me of dating all the guys I work with again.

From Shelly 2/3: I tried to explain that we sometimes all get together for drinks after work. Totally innocent. Then he started asking me why I don't ever invite him to these things if they are "totally innocent", he actually did the air quotes if you can believe it. So we yelled forever last night, he slept on the couch and packed his clothes and left this morning!

From Shelly 3/3: Can you believe it? Should I be happy he is gone? I miss him so much already!!!! Should I call him?

Fisherman Text

When you send a text to someone and they take too long to respond and you know that at some time they had to have read your text but just haven't text you back on purpose. Then when they do respond its random and completely unexpected. Just like fishing, you put the hook in, the fish look at the meat but don't bite until you least expect it so you're just sitting there looking at the water the whole time until you get a bite on the hook.

Hey how are you? What's new with you? Are you doing anything tonight? sent at 11:00am Friday

I'm good. Response at 1pm Sunday. That's what you call a "fisherman Text".

Preemptive Text

n. A text sent to a friend whom you are about to visit, alerting them prior to your arrival.

Phil - "Hey guys, we're about to go to Joe's house."
Zeek - "Does Joe know this, or are we just going to show up?"
Phil - "Yeah he knows. I sent him a preemptive text."

Jason - "Wanna' go to Steve's?"
Ralph - "Sure, but let him know or he won't answer the door."
Jason - "One preemptive text, coming up!"

When a group of people, usually three or more, all simultaneously text others not present, instead of conversing with each other.

tommy text

A name given to someone who never stops texting. Usually this person is whipped for a girl or guy and is afraid that by not talking to them for the last 15 seconds their true love will get pissed off and dump them. Person is also usually a huge douche bag!

Can also be used as "tommy text"

"Tommy text Mikel over there never stops texting, even though we are in the middle of a baseball game!"
