Someone who was previously advantaged in socioeconomic status and everyday life over others, who after policies of oppression and domination reinforcing their status were replaced with affirmative action, empowerment of those oppressed, and equality resulted in them now disadvantaged.
In the context of South Africa: a doctor, with many years of studying and experience, examines an old white male patient who seems very unsettled to be in a state healthcare facility. After much of the examination which cannot be divulged, the patient expresses his opinion with great ingratitude and unkindness that "a doctor of my own colour could have done it far quicker and explain it in a way that is understood." This man is a PANDA: During South Africa under Apartheid, segregation and oppression of non-white races, and domination of them by the white race resulted in financially, as well as politically, advantaged white families—now, decades later, these same men gawk at the idea of a equal society where he is now disadvantaged, and the very race he said could not do it is now advantaged—so advantaged in fact that the doctor, despite the patient's racist remarks and microaggressions, will treat the patient as an equal purely on principalism.
