A word to describe a digital image just before someone infringes on its copyright by handing out rights to distribute it to a website called Pinterest, without the permission of the image's creator.

"Oh, this is pinteresting! I will add this to my digital image hoard on Pinterest! Hopefully I will earn the approval of my followers when they repin the image to their own digital hoard, copyright infringement is so worth it. God forbid I should consider the consequences of my actions on the person who created this pinteresting image."

Face Painting

Face Painting (also referred to as 'MySpin') is internet slang for the practice of sprinkling a social networking profile with embellishments, fantasy, and satire, often with humorous or political intentions. Face painters play with the truthiness of identity by conducting a campaign of misinformation to protect their true identity.

Face Painting is closely related to Google Bombing

The term was coined in 2007 in the wake of the Facebook Beacon backlash and the Soble scandal. Face painters aim to introduce a bit of noise and chaos back into the system, clearing some space for true privacy, and enabling a form of direct political action that does not fall victim to Sunstein's critique of homogeneous, disjoint social sub-networks on the internet.

We spent the evening face painting our Facebook profiles.

"Painting the town red" means to party, run wild, and have fun. It can also be used to express the need/want to surprise and gain the attraction of the opposite gender (as seen in example 2).

Example 1:

On the phone one lonely Friday night...

Ring Ring!

Sally: Hello?

Joe: Hey, Sal. It's Joe!
Sally: Oh, hey Joe... How are you tonight?
Joe: I'm good. You?
Sally: I'm alright... I just finished my homework, and... I'm alone. Karmen was going out to eat with Jeremy, and Lillyanna was going to a party with Annie, so I'm just going to eat and go to bed after some Facebook.
Joe: Oh, I'm sorry...
Sally: Well, if you'll excuse me, I've got to go-
Joe: Wait! How would you like to go out with Tony and me tonight? We're going to party and do some painting the town red after a few drinks at the Irish Pub downtown!
Sally: Really? Joe, that sounds awesome! Here, can you pick me up in an hour?
