a nerd ranking, a nerd with far more superior powers than an average nerd and respected by other nerds. meaning a nerd that has a extremely high level of intellect and rejected socially

or a geek that became a nerd but is more annoying and talks about computers all the time.

nerds hang around each other for protection and to fit in while super nerds are much more rare and are alone most of the time until that is a bully comes

While is devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits with emphasis on achievement in their community.

Often the Military Intel community is full of Alpha Nerds - they have shown an ability to fight and in intellect. While often lacking in social ability.

Nerd Word

A big word used in casual conversation that no one understands except maybe the user. 60% of the time the Nerd Word user is smart and KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT and the other 40% of time it's used by an idiot who gets a random word out of the dictionary and then uses it to look smart.

Example 1:
Smart User- "I think the nomenclature of Windows is way easier than Mac. Don't you?"
Person- "Sorry,dumb it down. I can't understand Nerd Words."

Example 2:
Person- "I LOVE N'SYNC!!! Do you love them? I LOVE them."
Stupid User- " Yes. I believe they are very esoteric. I wish more bands were esoteric."
Person- "Do you even know what that means?"
Stupid User-

*Looks down at definition written on hand.*
"Only known by a few, not well known...Dammit"
Person- "Yeah, stop trying to use Nerd Words to look smarter."

Social Nerd

The Social Nerd are rare species that have the genetic mutations of both nerds and socialites. They keep to themselves at the end of every four month period (a.k.a. Nerding Period), However they rock-out with their cock outs at other times of the year disregarding most academic related responsibilities. A midst the Nerding Period, the Social Nerds will flock to one central location, the LIB where they gain the ability to cram, and learn the whole term's course in a week.

"I thought Jimmy was always down to go out for drinks."
"Nahhh it's Nerding Period, he's been at the LIB! I haven't seen him all week long"
"Damn I didn't know he was a Social Nerd"

anime nerd

Well, a lot of people like to classify anime nerds.
The truth is, anime nerds don't need to be classified.
Your average nerd likes to read manga, watch anime (Japanese cartoons), and converse about it.
There's also a possibility he/she likes to cosplay, which isn't shameful in the slightest. Those who criticize extensively should probably be studying.
Do anime nerds care about your opinion? Probably not.

-You have your pervs too, but they're not worth mentioning.

Popular Guy- Hey, look at those anime nerds, they're so stupid.
Friend- Dude, you got a D on your last test. You're not going to make it into college if you don't study.
