Hasty Generalization is the new One-off case

A streamlined version of the same concept, highlighting the direct substitution in rhetorical strategy. As the old phrase loses credibility from overuse, the pseudo-sophisticated fallacy label becomes the fresh vocabulary for the same agenda: pattern denial. It upgrades the software of obstruction from folk wisdom to Logic Bro™ terminology without changing the core function.

Hasty Generalization is the new One-off case Example: Community members present five recent toxic chemical spills from the same factory. The corporate PR statement reads: "These unfortunate incidents are being wrongly linked. To claim a systemic problem is to commit the Hasty Generalization fallacy. Each is being investigated as a unique, one-off case." The new term dresses up the old dismissal in academic drag.

The Star Trek Generation

People who grew up watching Star Trek during the mid 1960s. This was during a time where the technology back then wasn't as good as it is now so Star Trek was one of the only things that kept them the most entertained because of the futuristic elements within the show in which they envisioned the future to be like.

My grandpa is part of the Star Trek generation. It was one of his all time favorite shows.

aka. P.M.G.; The generation within a particular family that is the most politically active

Brian and Jen’s kids are a lot more involved protests about racial equality, gender equality, LGBTQ equality and recognition, and climate change than their parents, grandparents, or their own children are. They also attend more political rallies, watch debates more often, and tend to vote more than their parents, grandparents, or their own children do. They are the politically active generation in the family.

The Song of Ice & Fire Generation

Basically people (mainly 2010s adults, not kids) who grew up watching the hit TV show Game of Thrones (adapted from George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice & Fire series). They would normally cosplay as the characters or play games based on the series. They would also attend the Ice and Fire Con which celebrates the series as well as the show itself.

As a hardcore fan of Game of Thrones, I'm proudly part of the Song of Ice & Fire generation. Never have I seen an American fantasy show leave that much of an impact on our culture.
