Indie snob

Someone who thinks a band is automatically "bad" or "uncool" as soon as they recieve the tiniest bit of success. They will ignore that "successful" band and then rush to Pitchfork or some other snobby music site to find some obscure band to replace them.

Indie snobs think that Modest Mouse became uncool when "The Moon and Antarctica" was released; when "Float On" became a hit, indie snobs had ignored the band for quite a few years.

However, you aren't an indie snob if you hate Death Cab for Cutie for showing up on the OC. All you have is common sense.

the next generation of indie music, complete with the synthy background and hipsterriffic clothes. Nouveau indie is the hipster-er approach at indie. Very L.E.S.

Yell, Santogold, Lykki Li, Steve Aoki, and MGMT are all examples of nouveau indie.

indie kid

Indie kids are witty, intelligent kids that wear vintage clothing and like to differ from the norm. I'm not going to give examples of what they wear, because that pretty much defeats the purpose. They wear what they want, and don't give a shit what you think.

Indies are generally happy people, mainly because their music makes you feel like spinning around in a cirle while a smiling man in a white suit throws confetti at you. Indies are very un-emo due to this, and are constantly waging a war with the over-styled emo masses due to the fact that emos stole Converse.

Their attitudes are fickle, and can be passed off as pretentious or rude if you don't get to know them. The guy or girl that stands out and acts like he's better than you, occasionally throwing out a sarcastic comment or two, will usually just be a shy indie not used to being around the wave of pop-culture-people.

Pop-kid: Look at her, she's such a bitch.
Pop-kid 2.0: I know. What's her problem?
Indie Guy: Lay off, she's just a shy Indie Kid.

This isn't just a band. It's a whole new genre. Melding the funktacularity of Indie Rock with a old-time good-time rock 'n' roll vibe, Indiephone are going to take the chart in your heart by storm. You can bet on it. Gee whiz.

Me: Did you see Indiephone play that last show at Ampulance?
You: Yeah. They totally went metric on my arse.
