Gaslighting

An easily abused buzzword that can be bounced back and forth by irresponsible or otherwise immature people use to deflect blame and accountability. Better off removed from the dictionary for the sake of a functioning society.

Person A: This wouldn't have happened if you didn't quit your job
Person B: How dare you! That's gaslighting! This wouldn't have happened if you didn't quit YOUR job!

Gaslighting is telling someone something irrational and convincing them it's true. Gaslighting is a form of manipulating and is very bad for the person who is being gaslits' mental health and sanity.

Attempting to manipulate someone into doubting their real traumas or experiences.

My dad was gaslighting me when he asserted that my sister didn’t actually assault me all these years ago because “she would never do that” despite her even admitting having done it to him.
