outside joke

A joke that is only funny to parties that are not involved in the joke, but is depressing, frustrating, or simply not funny to parties that are involved in the joke. It is essentially the opposite of an inside joke.

Insider: I can't believe I sharted in my pants during jury duty.
Outsider: HAHAHAHAHA!
Insider: *Grrr* Yeah, I guess it's kind of an outside joke.

An Inside joke that you have with yourself, and no-one else.
Typical of people with no friends or imaginary friends.

Person 1: 'heeheehee... Yoga Pants...'
Person 2: 'what are you laughing at?'
Person 1: 'Inself Joke dude... heeheeehee.'
Person 2: 'weirdo'
Person 3: 'I bet he has no friends.'

To describe when a person is humorous for a lengthy period of time.

Everything that guy said was funny, did he swallow a joke book or something?!?

Also can be replaced by 'dictionary' for someone who says words that no-one understands.
