Fic Baiting (v)

When an author intentionally acts like their work is complete until the bottom of the last page, baiting interested readers and inflating their fic stats to further the illusion.

An author I really like just started fic baiting (v) all their recent works and now I don't think I can trust them anymore because nothing they've actually written is finished despite the tags.

Browser Baiting is when you do internet searches for strange and odd things that you do not want just to trick the browser int displaying ads for those things.

I did a bunch of browser baiting last night. Looked for "eel shoes", "rubber volcanos" and "plastic pants". Getting some seriously odd stuff today.

Cooker bait

Cooker bait is when a mainstream media outlet intentionally adds antivaxer buzzwords into headlines to generate clicks. For example, "died suddenly" or "mystery illness" this often sends Cookers into a frenzy in comment sections of mainstream media outlets. Cooker bait can be anything from plane crashes to young people passing away, any situation where someone has died unexpectedly is perfect for cooker bait.
