Describing a level of intoxication or being "down" with something.

In old england people would be accidentally buried alive. When they finally realized this they decided to tie a bell to their wrist this way they could ring it if they were alive once buried. those who watched the graves at night is where they got the phrase "Graveyard Shift".

Dead Nonce is a term of endearment used in various parts of the world to convey a feeling of deep respect. Similar to calling something the shit, calling someone a dead nonce is a way of showing proper respect for a person or individual you deeply admire.
