Anything that is next to something else. Same as side-by-side, but this really annoys perfectionists and those who depend on straight-line logic.

the other side of the bed

The unused side of one's full/queen/king sized bed that when not being used by someone else is used as a back up for when you come home from a long day of work and realized you have no time or you're just too lazy to take a shower that night, preserving the freshness of one's normal side of the bed.

John: Holy crap dude yesterday was a kick in the nuts, I didn't get home till 3 in the morning.

Clyde: Damn man you atleast took a shower right?

John: Nah I waited till this morning, I slept on the other side of the bed, I hate when I fall asleep and my sheets feel hot and sticky as hell.

Clyde: I hear ya man

Side-Door Friend

A close friend who feels comfortable coming into your house via the side door, probably off the kitchen. You, too, are comfortable with this friend entering your house through the side door. A side-door friend is probably one of your best friends. Conversely, front-door friends are those acquaintances you are not all that close/comfortable with.

Marcia and me hang out constantly. She is totes a side-door friend.

Weird side of YouTube

When all of the video suggestions on YouTube have become strange meaningless videos. Also there is no more advertising do to the weirdness. Majority of the video suggestions will be parodies of Nyan Cat, Peter Griffin, and Spongebob.
