A potentially extinct term which roughly translates as 'copycat'. Origin and etymology is uncertain, but late UK Gen X-ers may remember the castigating call of 'Guinness!' in school classrooms when one pupil copied the idea, work, or joke of another.

na-guinness

a Filipino slang for 'corrected'. it is a reference to the act of Marcos supporters claiming that the 2022 Marcos Presidential campaign caravan at Ilocos Norte is the longest caravan in the world. Guinness saw this and they commented that the title 'longest caravan' does not belong to the 2022 Marcos Presidential campaign caravan. Hence, the term 'na-guinness' was born.

Na-guinness sila ng kanilang guro dahil mali kanina ang sagot nila sa klase. (English : The teacher corrected them because their answer was wrong during class a while ago.)

Guinness Book of World Records

The book which is actually just a website or it would have reached Mars by now, contains world records. Some of them are crazy, some are weird, some are crazy weird. But it's great to know that if I ever become the first person to eat eggs out of some sort of weird shit, my name gets put in an imaginary book to get me some fame.
