Dirty Jobs

A show on the Discovery Channel hosted by Mike Rowe. He visits various job sites and has first hand experience with some of the most interesting but often grossest jobs ever. He has gone out as an oyster farmer, exploring a cave filled with bat guano (shit), and working at a brewery to make beer.

Dirty Jobs makes me feel better about being away from the muck that some people deal with at their work.

Jobby Knocker

The jobby knocker was a person from days of old. When there were no toilets people took a crap in a abucket in the corner of the living room. The jobby knocker would come around daily and knock on your wooden door with a stout stick, he would collect your jobbies in a cart and trundle it away. Who knows what he did with it. Jobby knockers were thus smelly and not held in high respect. In days of yore it was an insult to be called a jobby knocker. These days it is used to insult someone who is a homosexual
