When a female explains something to you, then explains it again as if you didn't understand the first time, and then explains it again to make sure you know she thinks you still don't understand because you wouldn't have needed it explained to begin with.

After fig told me that I needed to squeeze out the sponge after doing the dishes she began femsplaining to me why.

Mansplain/Womansplain

To ask someone of the opposite sex to explain something to you thoroughly and as though you understand nothing relating to the subject. Typically used when someone believes their lack of understanding to be caused by a gender barrier.

Man: *Sees period cup*

Man: Can you mansplain/womansplain what this is to me?
Woman: It's a rubber cup people put up their vag in place of a tampon or pad during their period. It collects the blood, then you can dispose of the blood and clean the cup to reuse it.

Mansplaining

When a woman says something utterly stupid and a man rudely fails to pretend like she is making sense.

While watching tennis, Mary remarked that she believed Serena Williams would beat Roger Federer if they ever played. Mike explained the biological differences between men and women to Mary. He also explained normal distributions to Mary, and how even though Serena Williams could beat 99.9% of the men in the world in tennis, that means there are thousands of men you have never heard of that could beat her. Mary did not appreciate the mansplaining and would have preferred to continue living in the false reality where women are just as good as men in sports.
