A competition between two or more horns usually to see which is loudest. May take place between any types of horns, including car horns, truck horns, locomotive horns, ship horns, marching band horns, etc.

The marching band just had a horn battle with that train! I think it won!

Car Horn

An absolute amazing instrument in a car. A very simple yet useful instrument which is BUILT to allow you to warn other drivers of danger, but really is 90% of the time used to tell another driver that they're an asshole.

A WARN Honk is usually two or three short taps on the horn, followed by holding the horn down if it doesn't get the attention of the driver.

A "you're a dick" honk is usually held down for about 1-3 seconds to clearly inform someone that they've pissed you off.

A "GO!" Honk for someone sitting at a green light is usually 2 short taps on the horn.

I honk my car horn when some jackass decides to cheat traffic and cut into my lane from a turn only lane. They deserve to be honked at because they need to be told that they're not special and they're an asshole for cutting the line when the rest of us wait.

Grease Horn

Another word for your cell phone. Meaning that it is used to pick up grease (aka women, guys, booty call, etc...). Often used to describe a phone that gets ridiculous amounts of calls, texts and picture messages resulting from hitting on people and greasing them up like a boss.

"Heey, why didn't you pick up the grease horn last night?"

"Sorry man, it wasn't working, there was much too much grease so it was pooched for the night"

"Ahhh, I get it. You salty dawg you!!!"

Horn effect

Opossite of the "halo effect". Horn effect is associating negative traits with someone who is conventionally unattractive while overlooking their good traits.

“When I express my feelings towards a girl they call me weird but when "Chad" does it it's cute. Why is that?”
