To skilfully and surgically pass a large amount of work onto someone who hasn't requested the work or the responsibility.

The stitch up is usually between friends or colleagues who take great enjoyment at drowning each other in responsibility and project deliverables.

Nick had one goal, and that was to make sure he didn't end up with any tasks to manage. He needed to stitch up someone fast.
