Judges will often white knight to help women win in divorce cases against men even without evidence that the woman has actually been wronged in any way.
When Randy Newman wrote "Short People", most of the protests about the song were from tall people; most of the short people actually understood what the song was all about, but still the taller people tended to white knight against the song for them anyway.
