Woke

The term "woke", typically refers to an individual or ideology perceived as being excessively or self-righteously aware of social issues, often to the point of being dogmatic or intolerant of differing viewpoints. Being "woke" may involve adopting extreme or rigid stances on social justice topics, dismissing alternative perspectives, and engaging in "cancel culture" or online shaming tactics against those who do not align with their beliefs, overzealousness and ideological rigidity associated with certain factions of the social justice movement.

“Woke” is often associated with Virtue signalling, which refers to the practice of publicly expressing one's moral or ethical beliefs, values, or actions primarily with the intent of demonstrating one's own righteousness or gaining social approval. It involves engaging in conspicuous displays of support for certain causes or beliefs, often through public statements, social media posts, or symbolic gestures. The term is typically used in a critical or sarcastic manner to suggest that the person engaging in virtue signalling is more concerned with appearing virtuous or morally superior rather than actively working towards meaningful change or taking substantive action.

Woke

"WOKENESS"🤔 refers to a contemporary ideology rooted in Critical Theory, race, and identity politics, often infused with elements of Marxism, which emphasizes a hierarchical view of victim-hood and collective identity. This ideology tends to prioritize group identities over individual agency, leading to an overemphasis on identity categories such as race, gender, and sexual orientation. Critics argue that "wokeness" fosters a culture of victim-hood, promotes intolerance towards differing viewpoints (commonly known as "cancel culture"), and undermines the principles of individualism and meritocracy. Furthermore, it is often associated with policies and practices that prioritize diversity over qualifications, potentially leading to reverse discrimination and the devaluation of excellence and achievement.
Why did Woke Colin Kaepernick join a dating app? He wanted to find someone who would take a knee for him, just like he did for social justice!

Too woke

A person who is "too woke" is someone who extends a meaningless thing to convert it into a bigger topic despite the original statement's intent. Similar to the saying, "Reaching".
Mark : "I can't draw men"
Lisa : "So you're a misogynistic because you think men should be viewed in a different way besides women?"
Mark : "Wow, talk about being too woke."

Woke

A term that was originally used by black people to stay woke about racism, but has since been ran into the ground by conservatives and white liberals alike who don’t care to learn what words actually mean

Woke

In the world of gaming and other media such as movies, this word represents a set of characteristics that spotlights identity and identity politics as a primary focus rather than being a natural occurrence normally found in an existing work, IP, or even real life society.

Characteristics such as Mary Sue characters, race swapping, and gender swapping; over-representing and over-focusing on minorities and characters based on sexual preference; purposefully degrading beauty as an attempt to normalize a new standard; purposefully taking white male characters and putting them in positions where they come across as ignorant, stupid, damaged, or incapable, or only depicting them in power roles as the villain in comparison to others as a means to further elevate and spotlight "diverse" characters; purposefully putting men in support roles while women are depicted in physical roles; having a very vast majority of women in leadership roles; and the demeaning and marginalizing of hetero-normative characters.

These characteristics have in turn created pattern recognition which has done more damage to women, minorities, and the lgbtq community who now become associated with poor story writing and shallow characters due to a focus on virtue signaling over substance.
If Dragon Age the Veilguard had been created with a focus on the original style and history of the previous games over woke ideology, the game most likely would have gotten a much better reception.
