As a result, many people from the greater New York area (and not so greater like most of Connecticut) become Yankee fans and feel they accomplished some great achievement by jumping on the bandwagon. Furthermore, the Yankees prove that there is a thing worse than a sore loser(see Red Sox fans), and that is a sore winner(see Paul O' Neil and George Steinbrenner.)
